BASEBALL BEATS HIGHMARK

I’m pleased to report that our Hiker baseball team remains undefeated 4-0. The team took on Highmark the 2nd place team in the standings and came out with a contested victory 3-1 as the game was called with Highland, the home team threatening to score again in the bottom of the 4th inning.

Trenton Harris was the winning pitcher, throwing 95 pitches, holding Highmark to only two hits while going the distance. Cameron Dodge made the plays of the game making 2 catches of hard hit balls to Center Field. On one exciting play, he fielded a hard hit ball to left center and threw a strike from the outfield to Jordan Perea, our catcher who made a clean catch to tag the runner out at home on a bang bang play. Near perfect defense the entire game left Highmark struggling to score all afternoon. Jordan Perea scored two runs. Trenton Harris scored once and was on second threatening to score again after a hard hit ball to left center as the game was called on a time limit with one out.
